June 2009 Update

Here are some new pictures from June: http://picasaweb.google.com/hollypatrickcork

And here is a short video of what we've been up to this month including: roofing our house, swimming, listening to Jacob "cock-a-doodle-doo", hunting bunny rabbits in the backyard (Caleb found out the rabbits had eaten all of the blueberries out of the garden and wanted to make sure it didn't happen again), and some slip 'n slide action at Holly's parents' house with Greenville friends Paul and Tiffany Alf (with baby Payton) and Lee Coakley last weekend. We even managed to squeeze in a game of chair baseball on Saturday morning.

Holiday World

We made a trip to Holiday World and Splashin' Safari on Wednesday, June 3rd with both sets of grandparents. We have plenty of pictures from our fun day posted here: http://picasaweb.google.com/hollypatrickcork/

Here is another video of Caleb playing baseball at his birthday party a couple weeks ago:

Caleb starts swimming lessons this week at the YMCA in town so he will really enjoy that. He'll have 8 total sessions (twice a week for a month) throughout the month of June.

For anyone that wants to sign up to be contacted when we post a new update and/or pictures, you can click on the "followers" section to the right and follow the instructions. I promise I won't post very often (maybe every month or so), but that will save you the trouble of having to check back every so often to see if anything new is happening with the Corks! Have a good summer everyone.

Ethan Nicholas Cork and More

It's waaaaaay past due for an update, but things are a little busier than they were the last time I posted anything. As you probably know by now, Ethan Nicholas Cork was born on Tuesday, May 5. He was 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long. He's doing great so far and his big brothers love him! I was able to take two whole weeks off work which was nice. Holly definitely has her hands full during the day now that I'm back though.

We had three kids under the age of 4 for a few weeks, but then Caleb celebrated birthday #4 on May 24. We had a very nice party for him and he get plenty of new toys including a full baseball uniform and bases. He has worn his baseball uniform (and cleats) every day since his party last Monday.

Caleb finished his first year of preschool and will probably miss going this summer, but he will have plenty of entertainment around the house. Jacob is getting much more vocal, although he still doesn't use a lot of words. He has to be loud to be heard over Caleb so there is a lot of squealing and squeaking and cock-a-doodle dooing around the house. Ethan had his first doctor's appointment at two weeks and had already gained almost a pound. We will see if he's going to "chunk up" like Jacob did his first six months.

I just found out that geocities is shutting down all of their websites so I'm going to have to find somewhere else to post pictures (and I have about a thousand Cork Bowl and Chair Baseball pages to get re-uploaded somewhere else.... :-( As for now, I've created some online albums here on google - here are some of our May pictures: May 2009 Pictures. There is a "slideshow" option at the top if you want to watch them all without clicking on each of them - you may want to change the setting to 5 or 6 seconds since the default 3 second setting is a little quick.

Spring Update

We are about 7 weeks away from Holly's due date for baby boy #3. Holly's sister (Laurie) is due any day now so Holly's parents will have five grandkids under the age of 4 two months from now. We are definitely ready for spring as the boys have really enjoyed playing outside on the nice days. Caleb will turn 4 on May 24 and Jacob is now 17 1/2 months old. Our summer plans include having a baby and putting a new roof on our house so if anybody runs across a few thousand dollars you are tying to get rid of let us know.

The Caleb quote of the month:
Holly took Jacob to the doctor and when she took out her stethoscope to check Jacob, Caleb told her, "I have a doctor kit too."

Jacob is a real climber - we've never seen anything like it. And he wants to do everything big brother does. Here is a video of him doing his thing:

And here is a video of Caleb playing with his bow and arrow and the two boys doing what they do best - playing and wrestling around with each other. Just another day at the Cork house:

Ice and Snow

Here are some video highlights of some weekend fun at Holly's parents house. Caleb tried out ice skating for the first time. (Disclaimer: No children were injured in the filming of this video :-)
